This was ordered months ago and stowed for use when an emergency actually occurred. When Hurricane Irma came, they were good to go after inserting some fresh batteries.The lights are bright and omnidirectional. In fact, one lamp was too bright for the bathroom. But the intensity can be adjusted by retracting them. This feature also makes them compact and easy to store.These lasted for three days with no apparent decrease in brightness. The built in hangers make it easy to find a good spot to illuminate an entire room. I recommend one of these for every room along with some hand held flashlights. That will give you useable light for your entire home.

My eyes!!! These things are bright!!!Which is a good thing because when I want to see I want to see. And tough. I use them when I am on my Army field training for weeks on end and they take a beating.

I bought myself 2 lanterns in the spring and gave my daughter and grandson 1 to take on their annual boy scout camp week. It was used by everyone in the pack especially for late night outhouse trips. Every parent was ordering the lantern on their phones for future campout. I use mine daily around the house and to check on the chickens at night when they are making noise. I hang it on the armrest of my mobility scooter when I use it at night because the built-in headlight is inadequate. I just ordered 4 more because 1 around the house is not enough. I have many different types of flashlights and LED lights , none come close to the intensity or ease of use as this lantern. Love, love, love it.

I bought two of them for my hurricane box and recommended them to my friends and family. The light is extremely bright and able to light an entire room. I especially like the fact that they can be dimmed. I don't camp any longer but can imagine they would be great for that also. Very happy with this purchase.

Purchased these for lighting a bathroom and other areas when the power goes out. Had my doubts but they do work well. Include batteries. I leaned towards this item due to batteries used. I have many rechargeable AA batteries at the ready for use in other products such as computer mouse, remotes, etc. One of those items you forget about until you need them. Happy with product.
